Round 26 Broncos vs Storm - Pre Game Discussion

The two teams out of the 8 who can still make it are Warriors and Eels.
Warriors are +100, Eels are -100 (rounded)

If we win, the Eels are done, and we'll be above the storm on F/A. So there's 9 teams into 8, and we can't be 9th on the list.

If we lose, we need Eels and Warriors to both lose.

In a way, all 4 teams are out of the 8 at this stage until next week

Isn't it more than this though?

If we beat the Storm, but the Warriors beat the Panthers by 8 points more than we beat the Storm, we are out, as are the Storm.

There is no consolation in the Storm missing out if we win and miss out too

If we win, we won't miss out regardless of what happens in the Warriors game.

Yeah, in a way. Although it's always better to be in the 8 than not.
Though nothing's certain for anyone outside the top 4, but what I'm getting at is that if we win we're in. Don't need to worry about other results, just have to want it more than the Storm.

How so?

Warriors and us are both on 28 pts and we +7 on the Warriors.

We have a better for and against than Storm. If we win, we would go above Storm on for and against.

Even if Warriors win, we just simply go down to 8th and Storm sit on 9th.

Pretty much, what the top 8 is now but you replace Storm with Warriors.

The other game just decides where in the top 8 we finish if we win.

How so?

Warriors and us are both on 28 pts and we +7 on the Warriors.

Because we go ahead of the storm if we beat them, and the Eels can't win by 200 points. So we'll be ahead of at least 2 of the 10 teams still in contention.

If we beat the Storm, and the Warriors beat the Panthers, then Storm, Broncos and Warriors are on 30 points.

If the Warriors beat the Panthers by 8 more than we beat the Storm, we come 9th

Correct me if I am wrong please

We have been mate.

You're right, except we're above the Storm (Broncos +100ish, Storm +60ish). So we come 8th.

Check out the ladder predictor though, if you don't believe us.

No if we beat the Storm and the Warriors beat the Panthers by more than 8 the Storm come 9th as we have better for and against than them.

Don't forget, if the Titans beat the Dogs, they are a chance of dropping out too.

Sorry, couldn't keep a straight face typing that.

I think it was back in 2005?

I applied my sublime arithmetic skills and gave BHQ the punchline to a great joke ... which of course they never let me forget.

I calculated that Brent Tate scored 3 tries a game for the Broncos.

It was then that I took up drinking and banished numerators and denominators, set fire to my calculator and changed my avatar from Einstein to Homer Simpson

List your superstitions and make sure you follow them this week.

Whenever I drink out of my Broncos coffee cup we seem to lose so that stays in the cupboard.

I was playing career in Rugby league live 2 and came up against the storm. I was pretty nervous and it was close but I won in the dying minutes...obviously had I lost that, I would've been personally responsible for us losing this weekend.

The way I see it, the Broncos season basically ended when they lost to the Rabbitohs in the manner they did. It was already going to be rough after they lost to Manly, but when Souths happened, it was curtains.

Everything since has just been a bonus, a reminder that the Broncos really weren't THAT bad and if that continues on Friday, then that'll be great and something for us to really be appreciative of.

If not, eh.

All I'm after on the night is a good finish to the season. The Broncos have the points in them and as long as they play with some patience and poise I believe they can cause the boil over in Melbourne or at least do enough to make them sweat. As long as they don't repeat the efforts of the game at Suncorp, I'll be cool with the performance on Friday and I'll be looking forward to what should be another great finals series.

I agree with you BP except for me, our season was screwed ... well, almost, when we lost to the Sharks. That disgraceful loss was truly devastating in more ways than one. Two what should have been certain points just squandered recklessly.

It's interesting that you say this cos I have found the same thing.

I've developed a superstition that on game day I not only don't drink out of my broncos cup but actually drink out of this random titans mug we have at work.

Has worked so far
