Round 8 - Broncos vs. Rabbitohs - Pre-Game discussion

Lol sorry - thought it may have been a wish list. It's the best team Griffin has named in a while. I think the penny might finally be starting to drop. I expect us to be really competitive come Friday night. Can't wait!

I think if Broncos want people to take them seriously then they have to win this game, or at least be competitive for the whole 80.

ive always thought badger was a good ref, and seeing those stats i suppose its possible they influenced me subconsciously.

Gavin Badger is the control ref. I don't mind him actually.

We have a 2-1 record against Souths with Badger as the ref.

Overall, we have a 17-1-12 record with him as the ref.

Although the video ref is Bernard Sutton. The same guy that awarded the obstruction try to Manly, and guess who the control ref was?

Could have sworn they were going to drop Sutton after the debacle that was that try.

Long time viewer first time poster here...

With respect, why does everyone assume Kahu should get a starting spot over one of the young up-coming halves...?

Like any sane person, I think it is ludicrous to play a strong ball runner who was deposed of his FB role for a lack of playmaking ability, in the halves! But wasn't Kahu always groomed as an outside back? Why assume he would be instantly better than Hoff?

Plus he is injury prone and inexperienced at NRL level... Am I missing something here?

At the start of the season I wanted an unproven half like Kodi, Taylor, Strasser etc... But if Hoffman is our most stable or best defensive option perhaps it is too late to mess with that (sadly).

Final thing for now - I would hate for Copely or Vidot to be forced out by anyone, including Hoffman - it is proving so refreshing to have two big, athletic wingers again - acting like extra forwards out of our own half.

The Cows in Townsville. What a great chance for him to stake his claim, going up against JT.

It's hard to tell but is that sarcastic? If so, what's your point?

The Cowboys aren't traveling all that well and we've beaten them this year. We have a pretty good record in Townsville over the years. What better time, I think.

I'm slightly confident about winning this one. We have a great record on ANZAC day and the Rabbitohs are missing players in the key positions and aren't traveling very smoothly.

Will be a great win if we win the Rabbitohs are no duds and are still a strong opponent despite injuries.

Welcome to the forums, Reidy!

I agree a lot with what you said (especially about Copley and Vidot - they are playing awesome this year). I also agree it doesn't make sense for Hoffman, who didn't offer a lot at fullback, to be in the halves. I just hope he will improve with time. I like the look of Kahu though. He's a good finisher and is capable of busting the line and creating an opportunity. I'd like to see him in the team somewhere, not necessarily in the halves. Maybe center as a replacement for Reed.

He's not really an outside back.. he's always been more of a fullback playmaker. He can fit anywhere within the back 5 though. But he's a fullback. I totally agree with you though, I also think the faster they get rid of Hoffman at 6 the better.

No? I'm not being sarcastic. It is literally the best time for him to prove he is a better option than Hoffman, because he will be right there on the field performing head to head with one of the best halves in Rugby League.

Cool! I agree. Sorry dude - thought I was reading another one of them 'he's not ready for first grade until he's 30' posts.
