I can't see the AFL offering him another contract when his current one finishes. Especially not one that large. He will either take a big pay to go to yawnion or come back and play in the NRL for a much smaller, possibly incentive based contract.

I doubt we'd have to. Isn't he off contract at the end of this season? No AFL club will offer him a million a year

I read an article last week that said tge AFL, would offer him the new $1 million contract. It will be the same as it is now, the gold coast wont be paying that portion, the AFL will.

And if thats the case, I hope we don't match it to lure him back

He's not worth any more in his comeback year than 450K....probably 100K of that is just for publicity value.

Any more than that it's an absolute joke

.....for his first year.

If that is the case, that is a really childish act on the AFLs behalf. The NRL should offer Gary Ablett a huge amount of money to ride the bench in a NSW Cup team,
 
People want to pay 1 mil to a 19 year old with less than 50 games in the NRL, but not to a proven performer that's been successful at the highest levels of the game...

He'll find his feet pretty quick. Hunt has never been the kind of player that's never put the effort in.

I say bring him back, because he is the best option that's actually available.

He has said he wants to return to the NRL, just never said when.

With B Hunt demoted to either a utility role or Q Cup, most likely the latter.

Think that's harsh on poor Ben hunt, he's just finding his feet and with Milford coming he gets a genuine half to support. KHunt would be so rusty. But the crowds would be up, players will want to come and play with him that's pros for the club

hoffman definitely must be out the door if that's the case, and a lot of clubs would swoop on bhunt as well.

We go from having no 5/8th's to having three fullbacks who can play 5/8th and no halfback. only Milford has experience at halfback and he doesn't seem like a player to sit there and organise a nrl team at age 20.

Khunt has played halfback once, in the worst defeat in our history. I remember he had nice short kicking game and had kicked a field goal to win a game against the tigers in 08/09

Exactly. I think the only way that would happen is if Milford backflipped and we had no better options for the halves. I assume he would come back via wing/centre and assess from there
