NEWS Sunday Mail: Fifita still dithering

A chance to live in Sydney under the reign of the great man and on a bigger income sounds much too good to be true. Otherwise, he'd be crazy to knock it back. I'm tipping Fafita to be a Bronco in 2021.
That still doesn't answer the question though. Demetriou has very little going for him.

Fifita will be a Bronco in 2021 & 2022.

Fifita will be a Bomber from 2023 onward.

I'm calling it now, I said it in another thread but just want to get it out in the stratosphere. Wouldn't surprise me if Bennett & Fifita have already had a chat about it. Bennett will want a marquee signing, what better way to make a mark than stealing the hottest prospect on the market from your next door neighbour?

Ticks all the boxes for Fifita as well, gets to stay in Brisbane, gets a boat load of cash on a long-term deal, gets to play for Bennett, gets to be the face of the new franchise (More money).

The guy is the next great coach as he has been anointed by Bennett, just like other super coaches Henjak and Steve Price.
The only other coach Bennett anointed was Bellamy.

no he's not ... but he is the only successful one

Hell, being given a recommendation by Bennett is almost as big of a death warrant as the CEO coming out with the "coach has full support of the board"

I may be in the minority here, but Haas is the closest thing we have to once-in-a-generation. If we lose Fifita, so be it. If I were the Broncos, I wouldn't up the offer one cent. I'd tell him that any more money would jeapordise the ability to recruit talent to play around him. And if it's all about the money, he's not a good fit for the club.
Your not in the minority mate, of the two if anything Haas is worth more then the contract is on compared to the figures being thrown around for Fifita's signature, we got Haas on a bargain contract and a quality length. And your right Haas has that serious potential to be a once in a generation player. I want to retain Fifita as much as the next person but there comes a point where the club needs to say they can't compete or you will pay the price when you need money elsewhere.

There will be no Brisbane Bombers. Calling it now.
I still can't believe they are going with that name, setting themselves up for a real bashing when they lose or struggle.

so the Titans are reportedly prepared to offer 3.2 million over 4 years (avg of 800k a season)

I can see them poaching him from us for similar money to our reported offer

That number is completely made up and dates back to September last year

Here is the source, recycling his own stale rumour:

Badel: "It is believed Meninga has the salary-cap room to offer a four-year deal worth up to $800,000 a season – a $3.2 million bonanza. "

Does anyone remember the guy who calculated nrl reporters strike rate on "rumours" on twitter?
I hope he's still going around, from memory the "good" reporters were at about 25%. Totally embarrassing the level of media this country has, particularly nrl

it wouldn't surprise me ... i'm pretty sure the way rugby league journos get their figures it to have two hats (1 with contract values, the other with contract length), then close their eyes and pick form each hat ... then it's time to go to print

It’s all Murdoch press. What else do you expect?

Fairfax is way worse. But good luck finding anything about the Broncos in the SMH or Age.
