The Gillett Sin Bin

Apparently, Cummins sent a representative of the refs up to Griffin to apologize. The gutless **** couldn't do it himself.

Actually Cummins did the correct thing. The refs can't contact them directly when the season has started.

I was screaming at the tv. Horrible decision. Saying it almost cost us our season is a bit rich coming from hook though.

He said could have ended our season. (which is correct), he didn't say is could have cost us our season)

There is a huge difference in what he said what you said he said.

"(Cummins) sent some representative of the referees to me after the game to apologise.

"I'm just glad it didn't cost us our season. If I could fix it, I would. I ain't got that authority."

Huge difference might be a bit of a harsh description.

for a referee who is generally alright 90% of the time, when Cummins makes a mistake it is a huge **** ups. I'd love to see him gone. there are a lot of referees around who might not be quite as good at their best but they don't have as many huge clangers as Cummins.

Opps

Sorry about that, I thought he said is could have ended our season.

ABC Grandstand were calling it a howler,

For them to say that, for something that happened to the Broncos, it must have been really bad.

Normally they ignore the bad refs calls against the Broncos.

I definitely believe that there is a subtle agenda to make the games more of a contest. It's precisely what a CEO would do if he wants to artificially add excitement, while having absolutely no clue of the fabric of the game. The refs wouldn't even need it to be explained as a "let the losing team get the better calls". They'd simply give a directive that if one team is getting ahead, make sure it is not due to pushing the boundaries of the rules, and if there are discretions that would normally be let go, make sure they're pulled up.

The fact that he apologised to Gillett when he came back on speaks for itself. He should have just called him back. I could live with the penalty even though it was BS but the sin binning could have been avoided if the other ref spoke up. The magnitude of the error in regards to the game could have been huge. It was do or die for both teams. Griffen should have ripped him a new one when he was interviewed on tv

Since the Warriors destroyed the Titans, it's safe to say that this **** up becomes a really big problem for us now.
Exactly!

What happens if the Warriors beat us to the finals by a couple of points in F/A?

Storm drop out.

That's only if both teams win. Raiders win, Penny shade Warriors but Storm flog us and Warriors get in on f/a.

Though frankly we don't deserve to get in if we can't beat the Storm.

then we weren't good enough.

mistakes happen, it was a big mistake but most teams have copped a bad call from a ref that results in points being conceded.

10mins out of 24 games shouldn't decide whether you make finals or not.
