After a couple of hours digesting it, at best we've hit the Warriors on form. A confidence team, who are likely to do big things this year who were at a canter. The Broncos have had a long off-season, with 2 back to back road trips to NZ. Tired, with little to play for, I can see why this might have been a big ask to get up for.

Clean slate, give the boys a break for a couple of days, reset, get this out of their system, come back ready to train for the Round 1 against the Bulldogs.

Round 1 is redemption.

Re: Ben Hunt, his development was definitely ruined by Griffin (one of the many things he ruined, I hope there aren't people still defending him), and at this stage I'm unfortunately pretty confident he isn't going to end up anything special. He doesn't even look close to a lead half, he's a half that only seems to be comfortable attacking the blind side.

You can't have him partnered with a ball runner, it has to be an organiser, and we don't have one (and Milford is even more of a ball runner than what we have now).

I reckon throw that 1.5M we offered Cam Smith at DCE and offer him some boats too, or we are absolutely screwed.

Looks like its gonna be another long year. How has anything improved when maranta is still in the squad?? McCullough looks slower than ever. I think the best thing that'll happen for broncos this year is griffin getting the ass. Hopefully he takes Kearney with him

Maranta definitely wasn't the worst winger out there today.

There has to be some chance of a coach change before round 1 ... if things don't change radically, no way is Hook in charge come round 6

Maranta definitely wasn't the worst winger out there today.

I thought he was very average as always, he could've scored 2 tries but didn't. Mills was hopeless in defence but with the ball he did make some strong runs and took a couple of high kicks. Both would be very lucky to make the Round 1 team, I would swap Maranta for Hoffman and Mills for Vidot.

Maranta has been poor, but he's nowhere near the main problem that some people like to pretend he is. We weren't going to turn that score around if he wasn't playing.

Re: Any reasons Broncs WON'T win wooden spoon?

Fitness didn't seem like the issue today, but we can't really gauge that until a few rounds into the season proper.

I saw numerous comments about how our improved fitness was in 18 minute games at the 9s.

After watching it twice, amidst all of the problems there are two problems bigger than anything else:

1) We STILL allow teams to get up faster than a man bitten by a scorpion.
2) We STILL don't hold on to tackles or close the ball down.

The attack showed glimpses but it means jack all when those two above problems are still happening. I still think we'll be a very good team this year if Barba stays fit and Hodgo and JYY finally get back in the team for the run in to the finals which we will make IF we get a new defensive coach.

that was a complete disgrace,, for **** sake will these idiots in charge grow some nuts and stop running back rowers in the front row !! no one cares if one of glenn or gillett has to be benched we cant have quick yet weak defensive second rowers on both sides we need at least one bigger power runner in the back row. i havent bagged griffin to much in the past couple of years but goddam these positional errors are becoming unbearable. our defence has slowly gotten worse ever since kearney came and he is supposedly in charge of it so i cant see why he is still there, and if griffin is in charge of our attack then we are completely screwed. next year we are going to have one of the most dangerous backlines in the comp with milford barba hodges and hoffman but if these gameplans are still in play then its going to **** it all up and ruin any chance we have at making a run for the title, where have all our set plays gone ? we used to be so dangerous in the opposition 20,, i knew losing lockyer would affect us but i didnt think we would look like a bunch of spastics because of it like seriously we are one of 3 teams in queensland and we havent been able to find a decent half yet ? the titans have two....

I watched it live and watched the replay on 9.

Love it when I get called "not a real fan" on this forum when I say something negative. Some of those posters joined the "not a real fan" today by their actions.

Rabbir, if you wish to answer b4l's question, do so via PM.

Enough of this silly member v member crap. Nobody wants to read about it on the Broncos sub-board.
