What are your cooked NRL ideas?

  1. If a player is unable to stand up and play the ball they must leave the field and be assessed by an independent doctor
  2. The only 7 tackle set should be from a field goal attempt that goes dead
  3. Shoulder charge allowed back. But if a shoulder charge makes direct contact to the head, it's a sin bin and automatic minimum 2 week suspension for the lowest grade.
  4. The draw should be based on your finishing position from the previous year. If you finish first, the teams you play twice should be all the previous years top 8 sides.
  5. Publicly available salaries of players and coaches.
  6. Players should have their names on jerseys, and players should get a % of the sales of their jersey.
 
Here’s another one I’ve thought the NRL should have had for ages:

Players should be allocated a number and not have to change their jersey numbers if they change position. I think I was the only one who liked the numbering system at the World Cup.
 
Forward passed really piss me off especially them not getting called anywhere near enough. When the attacking team passes the ball, receiving player must catch the ball behind where the ball first leaves the hands of the player passing the ball.

The only way to settle the legality of passes beyond reasonable doubt is to have every pass assessed by a court appointed mechanical engineer or physicist in the bunker. An official would radar the passer, receiver and ball velocities, assess the relative momentum, measure the distance travelled, and then view the pass from all angles to ensure it left the body backwards. The entire process would only take a minute or two for each pass.

Otherwise you have to rely on the touch judges and they already have enough on their plates.

Ugh I hate this. Perfectly cooked idea, thanks for sharing.

I’d actually go the other way and say whoever scores has to kick their own conversion. Same with penalty goals;, it should be like free throws in the nba where the fouled player has to take the shot.

That’s a good question. I dunno, I remember when we were kids, the person who got panellised against had to take the tap. So I’d say the same for kick to touch.

Or the penalised player has to take a tap but can pass it to a better kicker immediately who can kick for touch but now under kick pressure
