I think he's had his upgrade. We can't keep being held to ransom every time a player wants his contract improved.
Yeah I agree, but if it's an extra 50-100k, eh.

This is an interesting subject I’ve been thinking a bit about for quite a while – whether my / our enjoyment and excitement for NRL would increase if LESS was known about the players and the dramas and scandals and contract negotiations etc. In other words, all but completely switching off from the NRL news cycle through the week (including social media) and just tuning in on the weekend when games are on.Remember when you actually liked the players that played for the club? It’s been a long time for me and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Look how well that’s playing out.Lolo?
Yep, for every cloud there's a silver lining and for the broncos, losing Haas would definitely enable more salary cap attention to be focused on areas that can really move the needle for a team's fortunes.Haas is a gun, could become the best prop ever seen IF he keeps improving and he doesn't get worn out.... but, I've gotta ask.....
Would we have lost the 1st 2 games if we replaced him with 2 x $500,000 props? They'd be origin-level, and we still have flegler to come back. Or better still, would we win more games with that $1,000,000 spent on our spine?
I don't think haas' "mates" would like the answer....
This is it. A $1m spine player would make our team better than even 3 Payne Haases could.Haas is a gun, could become the best prop ever seen IF he keeps improving and he doesn't get worn out.... but, I've gotta ask.....

Of course, SBW's best mate Weidler is running amok in the media.
Batten the hatches.
NRL should step in and ask all players to honor their deals.
Carrigan has been getting close to Haas numbers even Keenan is giving it a fair crack.Haas is a gun, could become the best prop ever seen IF he keeps improving and he doesn't get worn out.... but, I've gotta ask.....

Agreed with your first paragraphCarrigan has been getting close to Haas numbers even Keenan is giving it a fair crack.
Willison is someone to look out for in the next few years and then throw Flegler in aswell.
A top class 1 or 9 runs more than that extra 20-50 metres Haas runs a game over the other forwards
He's a gun no denying that but It's kind of the case of do you want to have the bragging rights of having the best prop In the game or not

Would doing that rekindle the kind of feelings we had as kids when all we had was the Rugby League Week magazine, the Thursday night footy show and non-clickbait newspaper stories?
There was always something a bit magical and mystical about seeing your team for the first & only time that week when they ran out the tunnel on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to play.
The problem isn't the amount, it's the quality of journalism and media. Not just in rugby league, although it is probably by far the worst, but sport and indeed media in general in Australia. Vlandys has ensured we have another 7 years of it thanks his bowing to a corpse that is "cable" tv....This is an interesting subject I’ve been thinking a bit about for quite a while – whether my / our enjoyment and excitement for NRL would increase if LESS was known about the players and the dramas and scandals and contract negotiations etc. In other words, all but completely switching off from the NRL news cycle through the week (including social media) and just tuning in on the weekend when games are on.
