NEWS Why Haas Rejected 6m Offer

What were the details of the $6m offer that the club apparently tabled to Payne?
It’d be interesting if that was an upgrade from 2023. If that’s the case and he wants $1m for 23 & the same for 24 without wanting an extension that is a massive kick into the guts of the club.
Basically saying pay me more now and by the way I’m leaving soon anyway.
I say do everything to enforce him to stay until 24, play cup, i dont care.
No fucking way we release him early to the Rorters. Unless they want to give us Walker & Manu in return.

All I can say is thank God we have DD and Ikin looking after this situation.

If Payne wants to be part of the rebuild and help make the Broncos the club he says they should be then he should get this whole shitshow sorted sooner than later.

The longer it drags on the more you know the Sydney mafia are pulling the strings in order to get him away from Brisbane.

Funny how no other club in the comp are subjected to this sort of bullshit. A strong NRL of course would make some sort of statement to say they frown upon this sort of behind the scenes wrangling for players and would do a full audit on the club who ends up with Haas' signature.

But we all know that wont happen, and even if it did they would find the Rorters were squeaky clean.

Gould knows what's up. You wanna play for us, then play for us. Otherwise go away.

What about weidler the absolute slime of a human being. There's no way he isn't getting paid by Nasser over all these years. Disgusting level of journalism

Weidler:

"We’ve told you about Payne Haas′ decision to take his former agent Chris Orr to court. While that action is still before the courts, Haas has a new management deal, teaming up with Sportsplayer Management, which will do his next deal. It is unclear if Haas will need to conclude his case with his old manager before signing a rich new deal. The Broncos will need to pay him at least $1 million a year to secure his services and they have previously indicated they want him for up to six years. The $6m man has a ring to it."

Reminder of what Payne has been on to date:

2017 – $85,000
2018 – $110,000
2019 – $250,000
2020 – $448,000
2021 – $548,000
2022 – $748,000
2023 – $798,000
2024 – $848,000

Yea you can so tell that was fed to him to put pressure on the club. $800k for a front rower is more then enough! I hope we don't bow to pressure here.

Uncle Nick has plenty of room in his Bondi mansions.
I believe he’s also asked if Fifita wants to house share, but of cause will only be on 400k.
However, 4 rounds of golf a week are mandatory.

After reading that article, I just have one question.

If I sell my house in 2017 for $1,000,000 but in 2024 it’s worth $2,500,000; who can I take to court to recover the $1,500,000 I’ve lost?

What a joke.

Brisbane holds the whip hand in a sense here.. if Haas’ management are supposedly wanting this short term upgrade between now and 2024, the Broncos should be asking for a longer term commitment from Haas in return.

Remember when you actually liked the players that played for the club? It’s been a long time for me and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I really hope we stand firm and refuse him an upgrade and make him honor his deal.

I don't mind an upgrade if it's reasonable, he deserves top dollar. Absolutely make him honour his deal, if he makes a fuss at all put him back in lower grade.

I think he will stay though and always put in.
