So, if we evaluate his track record:

Halfback for U20's GF - Lost
Halfback for Nine's GF - Lost
Halfback for THAT GF - Lost

Farewell.

Not sure why people are arguing about Hunts kicking game????? My concern is his decision making when important games are on the line. He just doesn't seem to pick the right options

I have mixed feelings. Hunt showed so much heart and really carried the team in 2014-15 but I think he's too erratic when the chips are down and lacks vital composure. He's suffered many tough losses, starting with the 08 u-20s GF, and ultimately I just don't think he's a clutch player in big matches. (Notable exception 2015 golden point game vs Roosters when he scored the winning try but just prior to that he kicked out on the full, almost costing Broncos the match - Hunt in a nutshell.)

One thing's for sure, the Broncos' field goal stocks will rise.

This doesn't paint a picture of if Hunt made the right decision either. 9/10 times he chooses the wrong kick for how the team is placed.

Anyway. He doesn't want to be a Bronco, so cya later.

That other noise you hear is the ball hitting the ground.

It doesn't hit Napa. Watching it frame by frame and zoomed in would confirm that. The same with the McLean one.

Love obsession? No.

But I do believe people should get their facts 100% correct before making any comments regarding any player.

Hunt is a shit **** and this fact is 100% correct.

I love all the kicks on 3rd he did throughout the season for no result as well. Bloke is completely thick in the head. Has talent but would be the worst directional half in the comp.

PAUL McGregor hasn’t given up on Ben Hunt arriving at St George Illawarra a year early.
But the coach’s priority is leading the Dragons out of the NRL finals wilderness in 2017 with his job on the line.
McGregor said the ball is in Brisbane’s court to release the halfback this year after the Dragons signed him on a lucrative five-year contract from 2018.
“You’d have to talk to (Brisbane coach) Wayne (Bennett), mate,” McGregor told Sky Sports Radio on Wednesday when asked if Hunt could wear the Red V this year.
McGregor lauded Hunt, who this week accepted an offer worth a reported $6 million from the Dragons to end his nine-year career at Red Hill.
Goood luck, Mary. I'm afraid you'll be gone by the time your saviour arrives.

I'm going to get panned for this but if the Dragons were happy to foot his ENTIRE salary and pay compensation, I wouldn't be against it. It would give us a chance to see what KNik (or possibly JNik/Marshall/Insert name here) have got. If it is sub-standard, we re-sign everyone we can and hunt Hunt's replacement in the meantime.

That would be writing off our chances at a premiership this year probably.

I'm leaning this way as well, as much as it's obviously going to be worse for us THIS season, I think we'll majorly benefit from it in the long run, make it a fast break-up, no point in delaying it 12 months.

Side note: If we release Hunt early and the Dragons are happy to pay all of his 2017 salary, we'll have around $400k under the cap to play with between now and the start of the season.

Side note to the side note: I read today that the Tigers are shopping Tim Simona, if we're still looking at moving Oates to the forwards/bench, he'd be a very handy acquisition. Great attacking player, just needs to stay healthy.

If we were going to let Hunt go I would prefer we tried to used the money to get Jayden Nikorima back or maybe poach Ata Hingano from the Warriors.

I wouldn't be totally against that.

I think it was also show us if Milford was ready to be the number one half and run the side

I love Hunt as much as the next bloke but he is effectively out the door, if we struggle this season so be it but I would rather we move on sooner rather than later. I would not mind seeing what this spine offers:

1. Boyd
6. Milford
7. KNik
9. Macca

14. JNik (Preferably) / Marshall

I really want to get JNik back and think he could be a successor to Macca if he also decides to move on if he gets a ridiculous Huntesque offer.

In all honestly I'm pretty sure we could get Nikorima back under the 2nd tier salary cap, $85k on a 1 year deal. I wouldn't be worried about saving money under the primary cap for him. He's got no pathway to a starting 17 spot at the Roosters with Keary, Pearce, Friend & Watson all there. He's got a big chance at cracking our 17 if we release Hunt early.

It has always been said that Jayden is the more talented and would be the better option for halfback of the 2.

Also I think both brothers are probably too small to be starting hookers.

Hell no ! Hunt can get us to a premiership, if we go with someone else we r just going backwards. We just need to give milf more responsibility so next year he can be our dominate half .
