NEWS Bennett: Broncos players will decide if they follow me to Souths

I was banking on Bennett coaching forever but obviously that was never going to happen. I was hoping Kevie would get the nod. He has Bronco blood flowing through his veins and he would have done a good job. His Origin and ESL records are irrelevant when it comes to his qualifications. He is a winner and winners produce other winners. He may still get his chance if Seibold stinks it up.

You do know that part of the prerequisite to be a winner, is to win a lot.

He won six times as a player including five at the club he was applying for the head coaching role. He had 57 players to choose from in the Origin series this year and almost pulled it off despite missing a couple of it's long standing stars. Seibold impressively took his team to within one game of the GF in his rookie season but that included two losses to a struggling Bronco side and they were never ever a serious threat at the crown. That's why I am keen to see the two coaches stay put for another year as his sophomore season may not be as successful as his first and we may truly see his coaching credentials. Kevie deserved the job IMO and it's a shame that they passed on him.

that might be relevant if we wanted to sign him as a player ... but we were looking to sign a head coach, so what matters is his coaching record, which is abysmal

What does Kevvie's playing record have to do with his coaching? Lockyer was the best player I have ever seen, doesn't mean he would make a great doctor.

I cannot understand your logic. Most people that are great at something are terrible at teaching/coaching it because it all came so naturally to them they don't have the knowledge to pass on.

His playing record is irrelevant to whether he would make a good coach and his coaching record has to come into consideration and it is poor. He has now been passed over three times for coaching positions that he has applied for and actually proceeded through an interview process. I think that is telling, I am happy that they have not gone with Kevvie.

What better way to boost his coaching record than by leading the team that Wayne built. Truth be known, I considered him the leading candidate in a bad lot. Whichever applicant that is chosen (obviously it is the boy from Rocky) will be two steps down from the master and if AS can snare a premiership within five years, then I'll consider it to be a good move. He has a big task ahead of him.

Should do everything to sign Smith the moment he retires as an assistant coach, that is one great player who will also make a great coach.

What better way to improve your low skill set and poor previous results than by taking on the most prestigious and demanding position in that field...

Seibold took a tired, predictable side that relied on their core group of frowards and turned it into the most electric attacking unit in the comp. That left edge for the Rabbits had shit players (GI is a shadow of his former self and injured most of the time) but he made them unstoppable. He turned a 27 year old bench hooker who’s been flicked by several clubs into the aus hooker. Hell, he even got the Burgess boys to stop dropping the ball as frequently and kept Reynolds on the park for more than 50% of the season.

The rabbits were scrambling to keep him and only went with Wayne when they knew their efforts had failed. Aka Wayne was The emergency choice they came up with in a few days.

lol, I'm not in that fb group but obviously you are as you keep posting about it all the time. Do you share your vast knowledge with them occasionally or are you just an observer?

Yes, I have heard the same as well, it's sort of a fanboy/girl type page. I am relieved to hear that you are not a member.

They banned me for calling out 'Matt Smith' that admin for calling people **** heads. He didn't like his power trip being questioned. Fake fans like myself don't deserve a platform, and he's pretty big with the other admins on Broncos groups, so I'll be banned from all of them.

Not banned from BroncosHQ yet, so he's obviously not had much luck.
