The way I see it is today would be the perfect time to debut a new addition to the team. They would go in with basically no pressure and could get the first game nerves out of the way in preparation for more important games
What is the go here with Maxwell bowling with the new ball
I've missed the first hour - Anyone know what sort of speeds Green was bowling at?
Around the 140’s
Think he got up to 142 on one of his deliveries
And this is off his ambling run up, he can go faster. Early on, before his injuries, I had a mate say the speed gun in the nets when he really fired it up got up to 151!
You guys still disagreeing with me in saying that the Test series will be a walkover?
Genuinely don't think India stand a chance, especially with no Kohli for the last 3 games, and apparently no Rohit Sharma for the first 2 games, potentially all 4.
The only thing that would change my mind is if Warner misses several games.
I really want to get behind Green but sending the debutant in at 5 has given India the momentum in a big way. Finch struggling to get any strike and run rate creeping up.
Yep, and now Finch is forced to go for it and we lose another wicket. Barring something special from Maxwell or Carey we've lost this purely due to selections.
It's certainly a baptism of fire for a bloke who doesn't have a great white ball record.Yeah and I don't mind it. Give him a chance to work his way into the side. And the other thing is, this is the way Green bats, he starts slow and then accelerates, he is batting exactly the way he normally does and that is what I want to see. There is still plenty of batting to come.
