Apparently, so either Allen is backing himself to keep JAC out of fullback once he arrives in 2022 (although he couldn't oust Mitchell from fullback at the Rabbitohs) or the Bulldogs were the only club to go near his reported asking price.
firstly, let's see how he goes at fullback for an entire season, rather than 5 or 6 weeks ... he certainly didn't convince me that he was anything special in his Origin game. it was only a Bradbury situation that got him selected in the first place.
secondly, wait until our options are coached by a competent coaching team ... i have zero doubt they'll perform at a standard similar to Allen.
IMO, Allen screams of a signing that you make when you are just desperate to make a signing. he would be nothing more than a stop gap option (and an over paid one at that if you met his contract demands) ... if we hadn't just come off the season we had, then i doubt too many people would mention his name as an option, even less would be upset when he signed with another team
