Omfg that was awsome. Praises to Hannant, clinton and Thaiday. They set a awsome platform. Great backup particularily when Locky scored that try. A few dud calls from the ref but oh well i can't argue we still won.
The guy that has realy impressed me lately is Boyd! His defence has improved so much! loving that tackle when he drove the guy back 10 or so metres. Good to see Hunt Wallace and locky gelling well.

And I like Hodges's involvement today as well, despite the fact he was so closely marked.

Lockyer's vision is simply awesome, especially when Wallace is really stepping up and Hunt is at last really injecting himself up front.

I thought Sims played quite well, hit the ball up as strong as anyone. I think that should be our first 17, Stagg will weaken the side.

What was the crowd number guys?

28,100 something?

I thought the Raiders would be a danger team but they got spanked. I feel a lot more confident about our chances against the Warriors and DragQueens now.

Yea those little plays involving Hodges were great. icon_thumbs_u
So exciting to watch. If we keep this up we are definately going to be premiership contenders.

I would rather see Taylor get some game time in the end of the first half instead of just chucking him on at the end.

BTW - one of Ikin's comments I thought was interesting was that we do sometimes "over-chase" up the middle and can leave holes.

The Raiders missed a golden opportunity on one occasion when they went right instead of left when we had no defence up the middle.

wow, that's not too good, considering form of both teams I thought it would of been in the 30's.

I thought Taylor did more in 10 minutes than Parker did in the whole match.

Definitely agree with this.

Today just proves we're quite capable of playing without our 'workhorse' Stagg.

Unfortunately, Taylor will be dropped for him. [icon_frown

I'm still not sold on that performance. I spose you have to build towards the finals however the score was reall run up in the last 15minutes. It was a lot closer than the score suggested. If Todd Carney wasn't such a boozehound could have been a bit clsoer.

Credit to the Broncs though, the big 3 (Hunt, Hodges, Lockyer) combined well and if DT, Clinton and Hannant keep goign forward like they did today the big 3 will have a field day.

What exactly is Parker bringing to the team, the more I watch him play the more I don't rate him. Ineffective tackles, running sideways, he needs to pick up his act.

Put Parker on the bench and bring Eastwood into the starting 13. At the end of the game we could of realy used PJ but oh well. Did anyone notive that Thaiday has been pushing up alot more in his hitups rather than hitting them and dropping?

I think that's the biggest positive out of the game, there is lots of improvment to come, which means by finals time the team should be hitting their straps.

Taylor has to play next week, up against a physical Warriors pack we'll need him

I agree, I think pretty much the same side has to play next week. The only change I'd make is swapping Parker with Eastwood. Eastwood has improved a lot this year, and I think he is more than good enough to start the game, and Parker has always played his best football off the bench.

Wow some of you people are easily impressed. We were solid today. Solid not spectacular.

The Backs.
Lockyer and Wallace played their parts, which they always do if they have a winning pack. We already know Lockyer is god.

Hodges was good, he only ran from dummy once that I recall, and passed heaps today.

Hunt! Man, this kid is going to be the Broncos captain for the next 10 years. He has started stepping at the line, which he never did. He used to step before the hit, now he is stepping heaps early, creating something for his outside men. I said it ages ago; if he goes to Lock, it will be a waste of talent. Hunt for 5/8th IMO. His offloads today were brilliant. When he gets that bulk we are expecting him to put on, he will be a great "running" 5/8th.

Kemp has skill. However, he is quick, not brilliant, just quick. Rock, you say you are upset we are losing Kemp? Dude, we put Falou on his wing! Boyd is our real loss in the backs for next year.
The Pigs.
Sammy was great again. Clinton was a MASSIVE improvement, if he can just put 2 games like that back to back. Ennis made a few silly decisions, kicking out of dummy, with nom chasers, luckily they were all shit kicks that went dead. TC lethal as ever, before his injury (Anyone hear anything about it?). Taylor showed glimpses of what he can be; like Clinton, please do this back to back! Sims and Hannant were quite average. In fact, I just don't see this "platform" you people reckon Hannant gives us? I think he needs to be able to play more minutes and frankly, do more work while he is on. That leaves Oztag. Man. Seriously, what has to happen before this bloke is dropped? (I bet his stats look good!) He is a passenger. His hit-ups make about 3 metres each and he never makes a dominate tackle on an opposing forward. A passenger is all he is. The big Warriors next week will own ouur pack if they play like that again.

Overall, a solid win. However, heaps of work to do. Like Jester said, with Carney or a decent backline, we would've been in trouble.

According to Ray Warren, the Raiders had a bloke named Millen playing at fuillback. [eusa_doh

P.S. Archer should absolutly be dropped to Jim Beam after calling that "no-try strip" just before the break!! That was disgraceful. And in fact, if that was a GF or at least a semi, he would be in deep shit. He ddin't even look at his touchies. Pathetic.
