[OFFICIAL] Barba to Broncos

Jeez ... if only the Dalai Lama was a fullback ... no character flaws ... no past indiscretions ... doesn't drink ... no women or family in his life and doesn't really give a stuff where he lives ... he's perfect for us !!!

This post is hilarious now.

Barba is an obvious phenomenal talent and we're in desperate need of players with genuine attacking spark. That being said, the cure could be worse than the disease. The wash up after Barba was stood down earlier this year made for telling reading. Half the team couldn't stand him going by some reports. There is some merit in being wary of players with baggage. Dugan would've fit in better, I think.

Yes, the other prefects and school captains in the team wouldn't like him....

OK ... OK ... who knew !! ... but at least we put pen to paper (or should that be pun to paper) .... you guys crack me up :loool:

The Mole does sound fairly confident Barba is coming to Broncs

People getting seriously pissed on the Kennel.

A couple of weeks ago their admins were threatening law suits and banning people who even suggested Barba was going. According to some of their members Barba has told friends he is moving to QLD and will join the Broncos.

Hopefully its true.

There is still time for Gee to tell him he is not worth more than $80000 a year :loool:

again, yeah not trying to get my hopes up, but, re barba:

The Mole@RLW_Mole25m
@tkara82 @LeagueWeek Moley hears it is all but a done deal. He wants a change.

Done deal, until the Broncos mismanage the negotiations.

BTW FWIW, Barba's not the solution to the Broncos problems by any stretch. Dunno who's going to pass or kick the ball to Barba.

A champion team, not a team of champions. A team is built by culture and personalities and friendships.

Maybe Wallace will go and they will re unite Prince and Benji 8 years too late. Benji and Barba would be funny together, the rest of the team would have no fucking idea where the ball was going

He may not be the entire solution but he certainly is a good start... and if he does come its PARTY TIME

haha ffs dont think anyone has said he is. but its a massive boost. just having him follow the forwards and take advantage of parker and gilletts offloading ability. his raw pace off the mark. hell he'd even be able to chase down someone who had made a break.

also hoffman is good mates with benny and has said he would love to play with him again. so barba coming in as FB certainly wouldnt cause any problems for hoffman. those two could become lethal together.

lol @ barba isnt the solution.

hes a huge part of the start of a solution. big name players attract other big name players. you dont hear someone say they wanted to sign with a club to play with peter wallace, but you would hear them say they did it to play with smith/inglis/thurston/lockyer. barba can be one of those players that attracts others. at the moment, noone wants to come here cause we look like a dead end. we need to get some big names to stop that perception.

Well, Bennett did rather well with a team of champions, but you are right nevertheless - the game plans are all about the team, and how they will support each other, champions or not, and how well they do that.

Not real well atm ... so maybe there is a less than satisfactory culture, difficult personalities and few friendships ... or is it really just fundamentally, a matter of good coaching which must include team building
