[Official] - Milford signs with Broncos

What do Ayoub and Milford have to lose from taking it to court or the NRL?

They lose the case, and end up in the same position they are now.

They win, and Milford plays for us in 2014, A team he actually wants to play for.

Ricky Stuart really is a walking contradiction.
Costs

and reputation. I'm not sure the Milford's want a case on his fathers health

At the time it was certainly mentioned, and again at the start of this whole saga. Why do you think the clause is there in the first place? Just because you don't want to believe it, doesn't make it true!

Oh, you haven't heard. In that case, I'm sorry... It mustn't be true.

Now, that is assumption, not fact. I'm only going with what has been published and is verifiable.

This is not about slinging anything, it's about the FACT that Carney, Dugan and Fergo's behavior towards the club was far worse than what Anthony has ever done, but he's the one the Raiders chose to make an example from.
As to glass roofs mate, no one can seriously compete with Canberra. From Carney's antics, passing by Monaghan's dog, Dugan's cruisers to Fergo's disappearance, you almost have a monopoly!

So I'm the one accused of posting opinions instead of facts uh? LOL

At least I can back up each and everyone of my statements with verifiable sources, what are yours, if not speculation?

I wasn't talking about what the Courier Mail or Canberra Times write, albeit they will certainly have some influence. It's about the image that the Raiders will have to the general League community and its stake holders. Another thing I am curious about, given the form of Don Furner with player contracts (remember Dayne Weston?), let's see what other players, especially those from the same background as Milford will think of all this...

I don't know afgntk, but he seems to think for himself, not just tow the "party line", in the same way Worm does. In FACT, most of the Raiders fans on BHQ seem to have a semblance of a brain, even if some are a little deluded! :aetsch:
Both of us are just speculating.

the difference is I know I don't know the facts, you seem to think you do. Don't get me wrong you could be right.... Maybe you know a lot more then I give you credit for.... If that's is the case then I concede.

If that's not the case, as I said, your post would be better if you didn't preface it saying these are the facts.

i don't want to get in a slinging match with you in your forum about club reputation or behavior problems, really what's the point?

all depends on the wording of that clause that no one has seen, so no one knows who it favours.

If it clearly favoured either the Raiders or Milford, the wording of the clause would have been leaked to the media by now.

Raiders insist homesick Anthony Milford's all theirs for one more season

The will-he-stay-or-will-he-go saga concerning Anthony Milford has taken another twist with Canberra insisting the young star has again confirmed his commitment to the club for next season.

''Anthony has given us an undertaking in writing from his manager and personally from Anthony as well that he will be here in 2014,'' Furner told Fairfax Media. ''He will honour his contract, which is all we wanted him to do.

''I spoke to the chief executive of the Broncos [Paul White] about it, clarifying that it would only be for those seasons [2015 and 2016].

''I've exchanged text messages with Sam [Ayoub] today and he said he will not be going back on what we've said,'' Furner said. ''He will be with you in 2014.''

The flip flopping continues. One minute Milford says he is coming to the Broncos the next minute he is staying at the Raiders. I hope he makes his mind up asap.

Whatever happens, the Raiders cannot allow Milford to play for another NRL team in 2014. They must hold their ground. This is not about compassion, it is about business. Milford's manager Sam Ayoub has previously threatened legal action or a season boycott. If Milford truly doesn't want to play for Canberra, then the Raiders will have to let him return to his family in Brisbane, but not to play in the NRL. He must sit it out.

The Fairfax v News Ltd brawl is on lol

Confusion reigns over Anthony Milford's future

Is Chris Wilson really a journalist? He's vocabulary and assumptions he passes off as fact make rothfield seem credible
After reading that, it sounded like he needed 1000 words before deadline so jumped on a certain local forum for ideas.

Have the Broncos actually been as "evil" as advertised?

Seems to be the club has sat on their hands and been whispering under their breath "please, please, please, please, please, please, please" and things have fallen into place.

Surely Milford position at the Raiders has become untenable.
secondly, the question for the Raiders at the heart of this issue is why does every player with some market value won't to leave their club

I can't see the Raiders being able to justify even playing Milford in their top 17 to their other players and most of all their fans, knowing that he won't be there in 2015/16, and has absolutely no interest to play for them in 2014..

Here's my question for the raiders. Even if you manage to keep him next year I can see no way he can be included in your top 17 when he clearly doesn't want to be there. So what, you play him in reserves? How ridiculous will that look.

Um cause that's a load of bull, two great re-signings in the past month

I think Broncos fans are the only ones who don't believe so

Edrick Lee yes but Wighton has a bung leg and no one will look at him until they see how he returns.
