Tonga on the wing? Perhaps but wouldn't that just be a sympathy selection? More like a "Oh Hodges is back so lets put him at centre, Tonga went great last game - Folau's injured let's stick Tonga on the wing?"

Maybe, but tonga deserves his spot, moreso that hodges atm. Hodges would go ok on the wing. Prob better than the other options we have unless somehow we can convince locke to play for us lol

Hodges is 10 times the player Tonga is . How can you say Hodges doesn't deserve his spot???

I think it's more 'Tonga doesn't deserve to be dropped' or 'Tonga deserves to be there more than Hodges' sort of thing. I have to say, Hodges has been really unlucky in the origin arena bar 07 and a couple of games.

I doubt that is what he means.... Tonga was only picked because Hodges was out so it is just the way it goes if he gets dropped for Hodges in the 3rd game. I think Tonga will be on the wing outside Hodges anyway..

The thing that must be remembered from past Qld selection mistakes (e.g. 04, 05) is don't pick players out of position. I really hope the selectors have learned that lesson and won't forget it.

Hunt on the wing? No way, he's not a winger. Pick an eligible competent winger to replace Folau on the wing. Leave the rest of the backline alone. Simple really. The one who springs to my mind is Sailor, who I have doubts about because of age but he's been going pretty well for the dragqueens and despite his lair personality I reckon he'd have the right attitute (as evidenced by his "really proud to be a Queenslander" comment on TV at the end of game 2). He's also someone who can take a few hitups when the forwards are doing it tough.

In saying that Boyd plays FB on his club week in, week out. He hasn't really been exposed yet but I don't think NSW even tried to exploit it in any way. Regardless, he's a solid defender.

I don't think we should go Tonga on the wing. I agree with you on the 04/05 comments. I think they will though.

whats the major difference except kick returns etc. if hes outside hodges it will be a good combination either way.

Lockyer47 got it. I feel tonga doesnt deserve to be dropped. He played a big part in our win in sydney. Hodges is only 1 game back from injury and looked dusty in parts on friday. I would hate for him to get injured again as he most likely will and leave us a man down yet again. On current form, i think tonga is better atm too, even if that is because hodges has only played 1 game in 5 weeks.

Define "done so well". Game 1 he missed a bucket load of tackles while defending near folau and lockyer. It could be said thats half the reason he missed them, but still... He did an admirable job in an unfamiliar position, but we dont want him starting a match there. He should only be called into centre / wing if an injury occurs.

I'd have the same squad except swap Crocker with Stagg and Myles with Scott. Gives a bit better bench impact IMO.
