ryan morgan plays on the eels left doesnt he? he's easily their strongest ball runner behind hayne so of the options we've got i think stagg is probably the safest way to go this week.

limits us a bit attack wise with hoffy at the back but if they focus on strong support play and keeping the ball alive (within reason) im sure we can cut up the eels defense.

From memory Loko tore us up a bit last time .......got the better of Hodgo more than once.

opps, just seen the Eels said. No Loko

and on the plus side, Ben Roberts named in the centres. Sweet !!

I would've chosen Gillett in centres but I guess it depends if you want to win based on attack or win based on defence. The eels can put together a pretty impressive try out wide from time to time but we all know they can't defend for shit. If we can keep them from scoring we should get a decent amount of points simply because they are the eels.

TL;DR: I'm okay with Stagg in the centres for thsi game.

If we mix it up in attack like we've been doing the last few weeks, I'm confident. I'll hit the fucking roof if we lose!

How far is Copley off coming back?

1910 any updates on Copley mate? I think you said he's a few weeks off last time.

I agree Gillett should play out wide, on both sides in attack, and the opposite side to Prince in defence. Gillett is so dangerous with the ball.

Hayne will direct play to both sides. Their pet play is the 2nd man with Mullaney. Their backs are quick. If our wingers leave their opposite, they will score as many as we will. The short pass to Maitua (who has a great step) near our line is another one of their pet plays.

Plus the extra that Hayne provides wherever he is. I hope we don't kick it to him.

Given we have no 2nd man plays with Hoffman at the back, I am hoping Gillett makes up for it.

Hunt and Hannant ball playing, and Hunt's vision and improved execution will go a long way to a win.

I'm happy with Stagg's selection he has plenty of experience in the center's and is coming up against Morgan and Roberts. Our pack is superior to Parra's and should be able to gain ascendancy. Expecting a real dog-fight though with us winning by a margin of 1-12.

Considering that our biggest winning margin since our winning (or rather not losing) run started has been a grand total of 2 points, I'm also expecting another tight contest.

We have no strike players left. Other than hoffman who is more defensive now. Maybe he should rove to the wing to link back up with reed. That combo was getting pretty lethal once upon a time

Kahu is back at least. He can strike...kind of.

They need to learn how not to rely on Hodges all the time too. He probably only has less than 10 games left of his career, assuming he retires next year, when he's off contract.

its all going to come down to endurance and who can close a game out, little worrying against a hungry eels team, hope allgood got named so mcguire can put another on his chin

Would love to see Hunt carve up tiring Eel's defence.

Me too. I just wonder if he has 80 minutes in him yet.

I see Hunt as a "strike" player now judging by his last few performances. 80" of it would be great

They are the wooden spooners.

If we lose to them twice we are complete and utter fucking rubbish. That's all Griffin has to say before the game.

As long as Griffin includes himself as well

The eels are wooden spooners yes but they have the wood on us. We have every reason to fear them. I think ever since they put 40 on us it still haunts us

Remember we pushed the Storm pretty hard without Hodges. All the good work done on the left was created by the halves, there's not much that Norman did that Hoffman can't do, except that Hoffman does have the speed to get through a gap if it presents itself (where Norman just thought he could).
