Relax @Santa & @Super Freak 😎
The best way to deal with “bogie/garbage teams that have the wood on us” is to smash them! Smash ‘em HARD! Tackle, hit hard, complete sets and compete right up until the 80th minute. All of a sudden the shit teams fold under the pressure. Enjoy the game live and watch Kevvie’s men do their job.
Yea, I have a feeling records are going to be broken against the Tigers 😀

I thought the Dragons game was our worst one yet, at least for the Dolphins we were running hard but just kept turning over the ball, against the Dragons in that first half they had it on us well and truly.

I think for the dragons we were quite good in the opening exchanges, but the backs wasted a lot of opportunities.

Then Flegler and Patty went off and the dragons bench dominated our bench along with a fatigued Haas.

Mid-second half was a bit tighter again, but our backs were wasting opportunities again (Cobbo missing a try, etc.), and then Haas came on and destroyed them single handedly.

Dolphins we completed at 67%, but somehow still came away with the win.

The key takeaways are complete the sets, build pressure and play to Reyno's kicking game.

Unfortunately we get to about 3rd/4th tackle and decide to put on a sweep play at which point Reece gets excited and just about refuses to die with the ball.

That's something he needs to fix up, but it's probably something Reyno also needs to take control of as well.

Instead of just going for the sweep play focus the attack through the middle early... get some outside / inside plays working with Walsh through the ruck. Let's get the Thaiday/Khunt outside inside pass happening again with both Riki and Capewell back to Reece.

Hell let's do the outside inside except from Capewell back into Mam, whilst Walsh is wrapping around the back... defence will follow Walsh and Mam will go straight through. Reece also loves to work blindsides, so have him focussing on that early in the game... or have him jumping into first receiver early on instead of getting it accelerating out towards the sidelines and running out of room.

I think we just get a little too tunnel visioned on running the sweep play.

I'd be putting flegler back to the bench with this game, hethrington back for paliaasia (if he played decent minutes and made his tackles in qld cup), and then telling hethrington and tapau that paaliasia is ready for the spot if they don't turn it on for this game, as well as telling flegler he gets the spot back if he brings the energy and mistake + penalty free footy in his stint.

Reason I'd do the above. That bench has bloody impact. We will start flat I have no doubt, but if that bench can turn it up to its potential that would certainly have a huge impact on the result and the energy in the whole team...

I know we were poor in the dolphins game but I feel we were actually in control the whole game for once and it was purely the emotion that made us go into their shells in attack and even at times in defence.

This side though can change momentum when they want to. They flicked the switch in the cowboys game, in the second half against the dragons and even when we fell behind against the dolphins. Haven’t seen another side do that as well as us this year

Really? My impression was dolphins had more control for the majority of the game.

I agree, I was at the game and even when Dolphins scored I felt like we'd respond and win the game, our intensity in defense after conceding was noticeable

I got worried after Hammer scored and then they rolled up the field on their kick off set.

Walsh was looking gassed and that looked to be a turning point in the momentum, because if Walsh was fatiguing then where were the points going to come from.

Fortunately for us Teague dropped an offload that had him going into space, and then Reyno was able to wrangle up some points with Capewell outrunning Isaako and Hammer for a try.

Also what the **** was Isaako doing on that try??

At about the 15-20m he veered away from Capewell when he was moving away from Hammer... if he continues on his line Capewell is dealing with two players whilst trying to get the ball down and possibly doesn't get there or loses control of it.

That's just Isaako being Isaako😁

Dolphins had more possession but the Broncos dominated territory and always looked more likely. But it was anyone's game at the end. The Dolphins defended bravely despite being exhausted and short on troops.

Walsh was talking about that move with Sam Thaiday on a pod cast last week .
Capewell could probably do it . Riki ,,, I dunno if he has that kind of ball skills . Sammy suggested Flegler ?

Apparently Billy Slater schooled Walsh on it at the Origin camp a cpl of seasons back .

I saw the Isaako non effort and thought he wanted to give Hammer a clear shot at Capewell ?
He seemed to be gaining then pulled out .

I thought he must've been covering a support player, but there was no one even close.

If he goes after Capewell he can take his legs and then Hammer can finish over the top... I'm not sure if momentum still gets him there, but he's probably getting tackled short and there's always a risk the ball comes out in those situations.

Just looked a non-effort (seems unlikely with how they're playing) or low IQ football, which seems on point for Isaako
