Round 4 - Broncos vs. Storm - Post Match Discussion

I still think that Slater try where Thaiday was held back was dodgy as all ****.
I can't believe that wasn't given obstruction. I seriously cannot believe it.

Even the Slater being offside for Cronks kick??

After pausing it, it looked like they were pretty much in line to me. I also thought he was in front in full motion, but maybe it's because he so damn fast.

I think the biggest positive with Norman is that he actually passed the ball to Reed and once to Hoffman. We just weren't used to seeing that from Hoffman last year. Either way, Hoffman's biggest strength is his running game, it suits the wing a lot more, where it's all just running.

Yeah I'll agree with that...I know I said push Hoff to FB next week if he's fit and leave Norman out, but I'm not overly sure. He does look more dangerous on the wing even without space. I guess I was thinking what if he DID have the space coming back from kick returns? But in reality he'll get more space on the wing, as long as we can get outside them... And I just wanted Norman gone as I really wasn't too impressed with him tonight - thanks Manifesto, was wondering if it was just me haha..

The first one Prince had 20m of free air in front of him and decides to run it.

The second one Macca looks around and both his halves are standing next to each other flat with the ball.

The last one Macca threw it forward.

I honestly don't know what Macca is supposed to do when the half is practically standing right next to him or in-front of him.

That's because Mc stands up & stumbles with the ball instead of giving clean service straight off the ground ....gives his half no time at all or completely throws their timing off.

No Norman was perfect. never puts a foot wrong. I am so sad that he signed with the Eels.

For starters, it's hilarious that you've accidentally typed Hoffman instead of Norman there. But yeah, this kind of sarcastic response brings nothing to the forum.

it was a completely illegal play and Anderson has to come out publicly and say that or its open slather to impede the defense in scrums. Its intriguing that the apparent reasoning by the video refs for allowing it was that thaiday wouldn't have got there in time and yet the current obstruction ruling is the complete opposite in that it doesn't matter how far away from the try the decoy makes contact with the defender, it's automatically no try.

Either does you and your buddies riding in on your high horse but you lot will continue to do it.

No, Macca looked around and both his halves are standing close enough together to hold hands barely 3m from the play-the-ball standing flat. They were lazy and should have known what tackle it was and should have been set deep for the kick.

Haha, what the hell are you talking about man? :s

Am I on a high horse because I disagree with you? Where have acted like I am some almighty internet overlord? Because I told you a sarcastic response like that adds nothing to the forum?

Well, too bad. I'll call you out, because I like to see quality discussion on BHQ, and not have people write off others' opinions with some sarcy crap. By all means disagree with someone, but actually back it up with an argument rather than mocking the one they make.

Disappointed we couldn't come away with the win but I have to admit that after the first 20 minutes, I wrote us off completely and I was just hoping that the team wouldn't let it be a runaway victory to the Storm.

Great effort by everyone on the team. Especially Reed for realising that if you pass to your winger, he can score tries.

Hopefully the players will take the positives out of this and we see more of what we saw in the second half against the Titans and continue to build on that. We looked like a contender out there tonight, need to see that self-belief more.

C'mon lads lets not fight, the boys have finally given us something to be proud of!
