Hello all. I don't often take part in these kind of forums but I really wanted to say I agree with Brent81.

Dargan. Give him some time in Cup.

Exactly. He needs to prove himself. As much as we need a halfback, no point putting in one who isnt doing the job or we will have the same issues we have now.
Maybe it was the plan all along, and they just wanted to give him time in cup to work on a few things.
When is his next run Joe?Dargan. Give him some time in Cup.
Hello all. I don't often take part in these kind of forums but I really wanted to say I agree with Brent81. Yes, Milford did some good things with his running game but he is a 5/8 on a mil a year! Given the lack of ability of the halfback, for Milford to play well he needs to do much more in managing the game and setting up the plays. He isn't doing that and even though his running game was "ok" (not more than that) tonight, it has also been mostly very poor.
I fear old Wayne has lost it. His little head has gotten the better of his big head. It's becoming increasingly obvious. I think he will be retired before the season is out if there isn't drastic improvement from Milford, Boyd and Bird. I believe another coach will move Milford to fullback, Bird to 5/8 and Boyd in the centers. I don't think that will make a big difference as we still have no one with any decent playmaking ability but given Milfords age and the size and length of his contract, a coach who hasn't lost the plot will want to try and get some moneys worth. In the future, if he is still around when the club has a (very) good playmaker (because Milfords playmaking ability is pretty much non existent), maybe he can go back to 5/8.
When is his next run Joe?
Going off reports in the pre season he was going well and the backup plan for if Kodi shits the bed. I know he has been injured but Kodi is a shot duck. Do you think Dargan will get a shot?
I've thought about the last 2 weeks and this is my view on it.
The problem isn't the halves, yes neither Niko or Milf have a very good kicking game or game management skills, we've known that since 2015 but we've still been a top 4-6 team. The problems aren't the forwards. The problem isn't Boyd, Wayne or the coaching staff. The problem is the ENTIRE TEAMS mentality, focus and attitude. For whatever reason, the entire teams attitude from 1 to 17 isn't up to NRL standard at the moment. Giving away penalties, making an error then giving away a penalty, getting frustrated and niggling with opposition players, throwing their hands up at the referee complaining etc. This is all an attitude thing. We have extremely low confidence at this time for whatever reason and the team doesn't believe in themselves, the game plan, then executing plays, defending tries etc. We are extremely flat, slow to play the ball and just slow in general. Executing set plays is predictable, our attack is easy to defend against. Our forwards aren't running with pace or venom, no intensity and just slow runs, getting driven back etc. Too many handling errors.
This ALL comes down to lacking confidence and having a defeatist and weak attitude. So far this season, the only time we've played to our potential and like the Broncos is round 2 after everyone and the media absolutely bagged us unmercifully. We came out and played REALLY well, our defense could of been better but our forwards were damaging, our halves were confidently running the ball and executing great plays and overall the team's energy, attitude and confidence was ON. Since then, it's been downhill. Do we need to get bagged every week for us to play well?
It's all attitude. We've seen what we can do in that game in round 2. I honestly believe we have a solid team who can do anything in this competition if they simply believe in themselves, switch on a positive winning attitude and do their absolute best every week. Are the team doing their best every week? You can honestly say they aren't. Look at them.
It's sad at the moment and I don't know what this season holds, but we have to also be realistic. We play the Warriors next week and then it's the Storm isn't it? I'm telling you now, we won't beat both those teams and we will go to 2-5 for the year. We have to be realistic. We can improve each week but we have to ride this out and hopefully after a few more losses, something clicks with the boys and we wake the **** up and realise, we are the fucking Broncos. Everyone hates us, everyone loves to bag us so let's use that for fuel and turn our fucking season around.
Just my take on things.
When was the last time we kicked to our giant winger from inside the opposition 20? Every team does it but we'd rather grubber and not give ourselves a chance. It's ridiculous
I don’t even just mean this year though. I don’t think we’ve kicked to the corner five times since 2015.If you're referring to Oates....wasn't he out injured for several weeks? Oates hands are at times, dreadful under the high ball. His strength seems to be, the diving into the corner style try.....be that from a pass or chasing down a grubber.
Your point is made though...you gotta mix it up.
